John Goehrs

Attorney at Law

I was raised in Austin, Texas, and graduated from Austin High School. I went to Austin College (Sherman, TX) getting a B.A. in Business and Political Science in 1982. Venturing into real estate in 1983, I became a salesman for J. B. Goodwin Realtors trained by now well-known teachers Gary Keller and Joe Williams (Keller Williams Realty). In 1985, I entered law school at South Texas College of Law (Houston, TX), law clerking during school while taking classes and the exam to become a licensed Texas Real Estate Broker my first semester. After graduating, I moved to Coldspring Texas where I formed Goehrs Properties with my cousin, Susan Goehrs as my sponsored agent. I also continued clerking with Smither, Martin and Henderson (Huntsville, TX) doing preparing real estate documentation including pleadings and discovery in real estate litigation.

I remained there after licensure until beginning a solo practice along with a real estate company. As the company grew to 2 offices and 6 agents I was counsel for the real estate company and prepared real estate transactional documents as well as litigation. I returned to Austin Texas where I grew up to go to work for the Enforcement division of the Texas Real Estate Commission from 2007 to 2013 enforcing the Texas Real Estate License Act and TREC Rules. Since leaving I began a solo legal practice doing mostly real estate legal matters and starting a real estate company. Recently, I have become a Notary Public and affiliated with Coldwell Banker Realty as a Broker Associate. Let my background as a Native Austinite familiar with the area and courts as well as experienced in real estate as an active participant assist you with your real estate and related legal needs. I look forward to working with you.
